About the Role
EnerMech is seeking a qualified Electrical Engineering Technician to support electrical engineering functions across our oil & gas and industrial projects. The successful candidate will assist in design, testing, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment, contributing to the delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist electrical engineers in the design and layout of electrical systems and components.
- Prepare detailed drawings, plans and diagrams of electrical installations and circuitry.
- Install, test, calibrate, modify and repair electrical equipment and systems in compliance with Australian Standards.
- Conduct inspections, perform tests and interpret data to verify compliance and performance.
- Provide red-line mark-ups and updates to electrical drawings based on site changes.
- Assemble and install control and protection equipment such as relays, meters, and switchgear.
- Estimate materials and labour required for project scopes.
- Support the development and review of scopes of work, work packs, QA/QC documents, and HSEQ plans.
- Perform quality checks on project outputs and support third-party inspections where needed.
- Attend site toolbox meetings and adhere to WHS standards and company policies.
- Assist in preparation of ITPs, ITCs, ITRs, and other project documentation.
- Collaborate with clients and subcontractors to ensure design and implementation aligns with project specifications.
Requirements
Essential Criteria
- Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (e.g. Certificate IV or Diploma).
- Minimum 2 yearsβ experience in a similar role within energy, oil & gas, or industrial sectors.
- Sound knowledge of Australian Standards and industry regulations.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Desirable
- Experience with protection relay panels, metering and industrial electrical installations.
- Familiarity with QA/QC procedures and documentation practices.
- Previous exposure to Envision, CWMS, and client design reviews.
